Portion Of Willow Road To Close For 3 Months: PennDOT Says

The Willow Road bridge over Ironworks Creek will be closed for repairs from March 28 through June.

A portion of Willow Road in Northampton Township will be closed from March 28 through June so crews car repair a structurally-deficient bridge, PennDOT has announced.

Crews will rehabilitate the township-owned Willow Road bridge over Ironworks Creek as part of a $2.3 million project to rehabilitate five structurally-deficient bridges in Bucks County.

During construction, Willow Road will be closed and detoured between Bustleton Pike and Buttonwood Road. Crews will replace the deteriorated bridge deck and beams, PennDOT said.

During construction, Willow Road through traffic will be detoured over Route 232 (Second Street Pike), Tanyard Road and Bustleton Pike.

The single-span, prestressed adjacent box beam bridge was built in 1962 and rehabilitated in 1977, according to PennDOT. It carries 412 vehicles a day.
