UPDATED: Propane Truck Overturns on Jacksonville Road

The driver of the car—Falls Township Police Chief William Wilcox—was sent to St. Mary Medical Center with head injuries.

The Northampton Fire Department removed propane tanks after a car accident on Wednesday morning caused a propane delivery truck to overturn. The accident took place at the intersection of Jacksonville and Bristol Roads.

Falls Township Police Chief William Wilcox was operating a department vehicle on eastbound Bristol Road when the propane delivery truck traveling northbound on Jacksonville struck it and then overturned, according to a statement released by the Warminster police department. Wilcox drove off the road and into a flower bed on the northeast corner of the intersection.

He was taken to St. Mary Medical Center with head injuries and has been listed in satisfactory condition, according to the report. The driver of the truck, Timothy Wolf of York, Pa., sustained minor injuries.

Witnesses told officers that Wilcox had the green light when the accident occurred.

Warminster police officers closed off access to northbound Jacksonville at the Bristol intersection during the cleanup and investigation around 11:30 a.m. Police said that there were no leaks from the tanks.

Northampton Township Police, Ivyland Borough Police, The Richboro Fire Department and the public works departments of both Warminster and Northampton Townships assisted the Warminster police.

At this time, the investigation is ongoing and being handled by Warminster Police Highway Patrol Unit.
