NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP —It wasn't a race and definitely not a derby.

A horse got away from a barn on Holland Road Friday, but the fire police caught up to it and got it back to its owner.

The Northampton Township Police Department posted the picture on its Facebook page Friday and credited the Northampton Fire Police with an assist on the loose horse call.

“Tex” or FP-3 was the horse whisperer until the owner was able to respond, the police department stated.

"The big question is —Do we have to do a pursuit report???" the police department asked.

Residents commented, sharing some laughs and offering thanks that the horse was returned safely to its owners.
