Steven Bryer Named To Northampton Township's Wall Of Honor

A public induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 1 at Municipal Park on Hatboro Road.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — This week, Northampton Township will honor resident Steve Bryer by adding his name to the township’s Wall of Honor.

The wall was established to recognize outstanding township residents who have made lasting contributions to the community and have contributed to the quality of life for the residents of Northampton.

During a 6 p.m. ceremony on Thursday, August 1, Bryer will be honored with the unveiling of a bronze plaque at the Wall of Honor located at Municipal Park, 281 Hatboro Road.

“The quality of life of Northampton Township has been enhanced by Mr. Bryer who through his volunteer service has made valuable and lasting contributions that make this community a great place to live, work and play,” said Supervisor Dr. Kimberly Rose in making a motion to add Bryer’s name to the wall. “His life will be honored and celebrated forever.

“This was an excellent choice,” added Rose. “Steve Bryer works tirelessly.”

From 2001 to 2013 Bryer served on the executive board of Council Rock Northampton Baseball. He coached baseball from 2000 to 2009. And he was a founding board member of the Miracle League of Northampton Township from 2009 to 2015.

He’s an active member of the Northampton Township Parks and Recreation board (2012 to the present). He also served from 2012 to 2013 as a board member of the Jack King Callender Foundation, helping to raise money and identify local professionals to donate services to renovate the Civic Center shack. And from 2016 to the present, he chairs the Northampton Day Festival Board.

"If you’ve never been to a Wall of Honor ceremony, it’s beautiful,” said Rose.

Past recipients have included Ed Engle (posthumously), Pete Palestina, and George Lange.

“Steve’s an excellent choice. He’s a community guy,” said Adam Selisker, the chairman of the Board of Supervisors. “Everything he does is for the community and from the heart. He works tirelessly. He’s very effective at getting things done. He has a lot of energy and I hope he keeps focusing that energy on the community.”
