Troop 145's Brian William Deiss Earns Eagle Rank

Troop 145 Eagle Scout Brian William Deiss completed a service project at Churchville Nature Center in Northampton.

Brian William Deiss is Troop 145’s newest Eagle Scout. As part of the requirements for earning the highest rank in scouting, Brian completed an Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project at Churchville Nature Center.

The son of Bernadette and Bill Deiss of Richboro, Brian led a group of fellow scouts in an excavation and construction project which created two sets of brick steps at the center in Northampton Township. The steps allow visitors to more easily walk between the parking lot and the visitor center as well as the visitor center and the children’s play area and Lenape Village.

Brian earned his Arrow of Light Award with Pack 145 before crossing over to Troop 145 which is chartered by Addisville Reformed Church. He served his troop in several positions of leadership including Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Troop Guide and Senior Patrol Leader. Brian was active in his troop volunteering on many service projects and attending campouts that featured hiking, canoeing, skiing, and rock climbing. Brian served as a counselor at Ockanickon Scout Reservation this summer where he enjoyed assisting younger scouts at the GE Betz Science Center. Brian is a brotherhood member of Order of the Arrow Ajapeu Lodge #2. He attended the 2015 National Order of the Arrow Conclave at University of Michigan.

A member of the Council Rock High School South class of 2017, Brian is a National Merit Commended Student. He plays tuba for his school’s orchestra and has performed with them at Carnegie Hall and as part of a performance tour of Greece. He is a member of several honor societies and the men’s tennis team. As a member of the High Schools United with NASA to Create Hardware team at his school he is working to design a system of shuttle launch induced vibration isolation. Brian plans to study aeronautical engineering at college after graduation.
