Troop 5 Scouting for Food Drive is a Success

It was a day of giving back to the community for the boy scouts of Troop 5.

The scouts participated in the annual Washington Crossing Council Scouting for Food Event by collecting donations from shoppers at Shop N Bag and Acme Markets in Richboro on Sunday. Between the two locations, they were able to collect 3,500 pounds of food and $325 in cash which was delivered by them to the Jesus Focus Food Pantry on Bristol Road in Southampton.

But that wasn’t their only good turn for the day explains Scoutmaster Tim Hough. “After the 15 or so boys who attended were done they shot over to the historic first Baptist Church on Second Street Pike to do flag ceremony for their annual Thanksgiving Interfaith Service.”
