Update: Turnout Low But Steady, Officials Say

The polls are still open in Northampton Township, but not many voters are visiting them.

The voter turnout at has been about 15 to 20 percent, said Bucks County Republican Committeeman David Breidinger.

Among those who turned out, the split has been about 70 percent Republican and 30 percent Democrat. 

Usually, they see about a 30 percent voter turnout on off election years, but Breidinger said he thought there would only be about 20 to 25 percent this year.

Poll workers at both districts in the  said turnout had been slow but steady throughout the day.

District 15 had about a 27 percent turnout and district 18 had about a 26 percent turnout, officials said.

"It's a long day but a fun day," said Judge of Elections Cathy Pico, who's been working at the elections for more than 30 years.

The Judge of Elections across the hall in district 18, Marc Pontarelli, said he thought the turnout could've been better.

"We expect more of a crowd with the nice weather," he said.
