RICHBORO, PA — Gasper Home & Garden Center will host a Tropical and Houseplant Workshop on Saturday, February 21, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The workshop aims to teach participants how to create a green oasis in their homes. This program is designed to help individuals find a soothing space amidst the pace of daily life.
The workshop will take place at Gasper Home & Garden Center, located at 316 Tanyard Road in Richboro. The cost to attend is $29. Individuals can register for the workshop online through the Gasper website.
Research conducted by a Taiwan university in 2022 indicated that indoor plants can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve one's state of mind. Workshop attendees will learn about the benefits, care, and design elements of tropicals and houseplants. Gasper experts will share tips for keeping plants thriving and managing environmental needs.

Jeanne Sachs, Gasper Program Director, stated, “While there is a lot to know about indoor plants, the workshop will cover the topic in a step-by-step fashion to allow workshop participants to learn which plants are best in sun or shade, where to position them within the home, and understand plant moisture requirements – which ones require a lot of moisture and consistent watering, and which ones can handle dry conditions.”
Attendees will also learn how tropicals and houseplants can serve as design elements within a home. The workshop will cover which plants offer interesting foliage in terms of color, texture, and habit to enhance a home's interior.

Sachs added, “Homeowners are often concerned about interior plant care, but they don’t need to be. We will cover how to simplify, streamline and optimize tropicals and houseplants' care, and how to select the right planter for specific plants. Knowing when to transplant and how to repot your plants into bigger pots is extremely important, and we will discuss that as well.” Participants are encouraged to bring their questions about tropicals and houseplants to the workshop. The Gasper team will be available to provide information and guidance, assisting participants in creating their own green spaces for enjoyment and well-being.
