3 Major Ross Bridge Projects Planned; Meeting On Them Scheduled
Allegheny County will hold an online meeting Wednesday to discuss the upcoming projects.
ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — Allegheny County's Department of Public Works will hold an online public meeting Wednesday to discuss four upcoming bridge preservation projects, three of which could have implications for Ross residents.
The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the Microsoft Teams video conferencing application to provide details and gather input on plans to renovate the following spans:
- Ivory Avenue Bridge No. 1, which carries Ivory Avenue over McKnight Road (Route 19) in Pittsburgh.
- Jacks Run Bridge No. 3, which carries Jacks Run Road over the Parkway North (I-279) in Ross.
- Bellevue Road Bridge, which carries Bellevue Road over the Parkway North (I-279) in Ross.
Also to be discussed is the Hillcrest Bridge, which carries Bethel Church Road over Pittsburgh Regional Transit light rail (Silver Line) tracks in Bethel Park.

The meeting's purpose is to present preliminary construction and traffic control plans and obtain public input prior to completion of the projects’ final design. Representatives from the county and its design consultant, Fisher Associates, will answer questions and address concerns about the bridge work.
The projects are expected to be bid in 2025, and construction on the bridges is expected to occur in 2026.
