Bedbug Heat Treatments
The term Heat treatment has become a very non-specific and generic term used today in Pest Control. Heat Treatment includes many different ways of killing bed bugs and viable bed bug eggswith heat.
All of the different ways using heat to kill bed bugs and viable bed bug eggs share the target temperatures and length of time.
Steam heat has the potential of the greatest heat range. From cool water vapor to actual steam. Steam heat however is for spot treating only and has little ability of penetration. Most systems have problems with condensation, water vapors dislodging dirt, leaving areas with watermarks and staining.
Electric heat. Electric heaters have an array of different heating outputs. Electric heaters have many different demands for power . Power can be supplied from the building or generated using large portable generators.
Propane heat. Propane heaters have the greatest BTU output per heater. There are several types of propane heaters. Many heaters are cross over use and are not designed for bed bug remediation but rather heating spaces. B R Pro Services uses systems specifically designed and certified for bed bug remediation.
Building layout also provides challenges for both electric and propane heaters. All systems are limited at a certain BTU output. Heat loss in buildings dictates how many heaters and in many cases what type of heater can be used.
The market place continues to bring new innovations to the market place either with cross over use of existing equipment or smaller compact units to help DIY homeowners and business.
Convection remediation optimization is the combination of propane or electric heaters and years of experience.
