BELLEVUE, PA — Bellevue’s 8th Live, Worship, Shop house tour returns on Saturday. The annual event will include houses, churches and businesses located in the borough.

This year’s nine properties include a 2-unit Queen Anne where a young couple lives upstairs and uses the first floor as an income property, to a mid-century converted place of worship which is now a performance-event space. The homes on the tour show the range of renovation from properties that are works-in-progress to ones that have been lovingly restored or re-imagined.

“Across America, people choose to live, work, and play in historic, well-established, walkable neighborhoods," said Leann Chaney, chair of Bona Fide Bellevue, the organization that sponsors the tour. "Residents move to places like Bellevue because they desire to live somewhere distinctive and unique sense of place."

Justin Greenawalt, who owns one of the homes on the tour and currently is in the process of renovating it, agrees with Chaney. He moved to North Euclid Avenue 11 years ago and wanted to be part of the positive change and growth in the community.

"So when we had an opportunity to purchase 97 North Euclid in 2025, it was really a no-brainer," he said.

"The house was structurally sound, but it definitely needed some love. Historically, the house was built by the same developer as ours, 93 North Euclid. So we also had a vested interest in restoring our house's 'sibling.'"

Greenawalt added that he saw the restoration effort as an opportunity to improve the street, bolster the neighborhood, and add to the community's inventory of good, solid housing options.

In addition to the 7 homes, this year’s tour will include other ways to showcase Bellevue, including a nationally known film production studio right in the middle of Bellevue. Located in a 100-plus year old Bell Telephone office, Animal (Studios) produces ads for local, regional, and national clients. They also produced the 2017 ABC sitcom "Downward Dog."

Also on the tour:

  • A walkthrough of a new performance and event space that occupies a former Jehovah Witness worship site and has now found a new life as The Circle. The owner has restored this with salvage materials throughout it.
  • A visit to a church basement that has found a new life as Brother Andre’s Coffee Shop, a gathering space that provides meaningful employment for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • An opportunity to grab a bite at a local restaurant. The tour is partnering with six Bellevue restaurants by offering a VIP package that includes two tour tickets, a $25 gift certificate at one of the restaurants, a chance to win an original watercolor of Lincoln Avenue in Bellevue by artist Jared Cullum and local merchandise.

The self-guided tour will occur from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds from the event help fund Bona Fide Bellevue programs which include (among other programs) local scholarships, community gardens, renovations to main street façades, community clean-up efforts and Bellevue’s holiday light up festivities.

Tickets for the tour are $45. VIP tickets are $125. Tickets are available online or at registration (McGovern Hall, Assumption Church, 35 North Jackson Avenue Bellevue 15202), on the day of the tour.
