In the early summer of 1956, 23-year-oldColin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), just downfrom Oxford and determined to makehis way in the film business, worked asa lowly assistant on the set of “The Princeand the Showgirl.” The film that famouslyunited Sir Laurence Olivier (KennethBranagh) and Marilyn Monroe (MichelleWilliams), who also was on honeymoonwith her new husband, the playwrightArthur Miller (Dougray Scott). Nearly40 years on, his diary account, “ThePrince, the Showgirl and Me” waspublished, but one week was missingand was published some years later as“My Week with Marilyn” — this is thestory of that week.
