Paws for the Cure

The Pittsburgh Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® invites the public to the Paws for the Cure® benefit walk on Sunday, October 7 at Hartwood Acres in Allison Park. Led by WTAE-TV’s Andrew Stockey and Shelley Duffy of STAR 100.7 FM, the event for pups and their people kicks off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Pittsburgh.

Participants—with or without dogs—will stroll a one-mile course through scenic Hartwood Acres, shop vendor and sponsor tents and try their pets’ luck at contests and games. Enjoy music by local artist Sydney Hutchko and fun activities such as dog costume contests, raffles and agility demonstrations.

The day’s events begin with registration and t-shirt pick up at 9:30; a 10:00 welcoming ceremony; dog contests begin at 10:30; the walk begins at 11:30; raffle prizes will be drawn at 12:15 and the closing ceremony is at 12:45.
