Set in Hawaii, “The Descendants” is asometimes humorous, sometimes tragicjourney for Matt King (George Clooney),an indifferent husband and father of two girls,who is forced to re-examine his past andembrace his future when his wife suffersa boating accident off of Waikiki. The eventleads to a rapprochement with his youngdaughters while Matt wrestles with adecision to sell the family’s land handeddown from Hawaiian royaltyand missionaries.
