As a young man growing up in the northern suburbs, Matthew VanFossan went from partial to total blindness. Facing the fears and challenges of a sightless world, he acquired Gilly, his first guide dog. The relationship between the two grew and deepened as they navigated the rocky journey of college life together and eventually traveled to foreign countries.
Matt and Gilly grew older together and now Matt lives with his wife and new guide dog Achilles. Copies of his book will be available when Matt, along with Achilles come to Northland Library to tell us more about their life together.
