Have FUN. Get DIRTY. BEAT CANCER.

The3rd Annual Pineapple Classic 5K Obstacle Course is fast approaching! This fun and challenging event is slated to be held Saturday, September 21st at the beautiful and grand Hartwood Acres. Our Pineapple Prince is Dan Mooney, the son of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society board member, Tom Mooney. Nine year old Dan is a leukemia survivor. He and his family look forward to being involved with the Pineapple Classic. Last year’s event SOLD OUT 2 weeks prior to the event with 500 participants. This year we are looking to secure additional participants so even more people can join in on the fun! In order to keep things fun and interesting, we have challenged our board members to recruit teams of participants as well.

Let us not forget that the purpose of all this mayhem and fun is to raise money to fight blood cancers and due to the hard work and dedication of last year’s participants, we were able to raise an astonishing $51,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The overwhelming success of last year’s event has prompted us to raise the bar as we hope to collect over $65,000 this fall. The addition of an In Honor/In Memory area at the event will provide the perfect opportunity for participants to honor or memorialize a loved one with a poster and picture near the end of the course.

It’s sure to be a great time for an even greater cause. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
