North Hills Extends School Closure, To Begin Virtual Instruction

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - With the coronavirus outbreak continuing to grow, the North Hills School District is extending its closure at least through April 13 and is preparing to begin virtual instruction.
Flexible instruction days will continue through March 27. No instruction will occur on March 30 and 31 to allow teacher to prepare for virtual instruction on April 1-3 and 6-9. No instruction will occur on Good Friday (April 10) and Easter Monday (April 13).
Instructors will use Google Classroom, Zoom and other resources to teach students.

Superintendent Patrick Mannarino cautioned that the schedule released Monday by the district is subject to change.
“Please know that the plan laid out today may need to be altered again," he said in a district release. "If we cannot return to school on April 14, we will continue to educate our students through our last scheduled day of school which will remain Friday, May 29."

The district's breakfast and lunch program will continue on school days during the closure, from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. at West View Elementary School. Additional food will be distributed on April 9 to provide enough food for Easter weekend; there will be no distribution on April 10 and
April 13.
