PA's Safest School Districts 2018: See Where North Hills Ranks

PITTSBURGH, PA - School safety is a topic garnering considerable attention in light of last week’s school shooting in Parkland, Florida and Niche.com has just released its listing of the safest school districts in Pennsylvania.

Only one district from Allegheny County cracked the top 10 in the rankings: South Fayette, which rated as the state’s second-safest district. North Hills ranked 152nd in the state and 14th in Allegheny County.

Niche.com, which analyzes data for schools and communities across the country, relied on data from the U.S. Department of Education and reviews from students and parents to determine the rankings.

Factoring into the ratings were parent-student safety surveys, the number of in- and out-of-school suspensions, expulsions, law enforcement referrals and school-related arrests.

Niche.com ranked the top 400 districts in the state numerically. What follows is a ranking of Allegheny County districts in the top 400 followed by that district’s state ranking:
