ROSS PARK MALL TO HOST CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION
Ross Park Mall shoppers will be treated to a unique cultural experience on Saturday, February 6 during the mall's Lunar New Year Celebration

Ross Park Mall shoppers will be treated to a unique cultural experience on Saturday, February 6 during the mall’s Lunar New Year Celebration.
From 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., performers from Yanlai Dance Academy, Xiaobo’s Joy Dance Group and Chinese Kai Liu’s Music Group will dazzle shoppers with music, dancing and traditional Tai Chi exercises.
The performance is being held to coincide with the Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, the longest and most recognized celebration in the Chinese New Year. The Year of the Monkey begins on February 8, and celebrations will take place throughout the city.
“Ross Park Mall has long been a place for families to celebrate holidays and special occasions together,” said Mike Gianoutsos, director of marketing and business development at Ross Park Mall. “This performance will expose our guests to a whole new set of traditions that many of our shoppers already observe.”
Yanlai Dance Academy was founded in 2004 by professional dancer Yanlai Wu, and encompasses a wide range of dance genres, from ballet, tap, and jazz, to traditional folk and classical Chinese classes. The Ross Park Mall performance will include routines from a wide range of the Academy’s disciplines.
The performance is a partnership between Ross Park Mall and Friendly Pittsburgh, an initiative founded by Idea Foundry, Inc. to introduce education, tourism, business and real estate opportunities in Pittsburgh to a Chinese audience.
