Veteran Pittsburgh TV Reporter Retires

PITTSBURGH, PA — A longtime Pittsburgh TV news reporter is putting down his microphone and step away from the camera.

KDKA-TV reporter Ross Guidotti's last day will be Friday. Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O' Connor stopped by the station on Wednesday to congratulate the veteran reporter and deliver a proclamation declaring the day was "Ross Guidotti Day" in Pittsburgh.

According to his station webpage, over the course of his career the Pittsburgh native and Point University graduate covered hurricanes, forest fires, attempts to impeach former President Bill Clinton and the Sago mine disaster.

In 1995, he started reporting for WHSV-TV in Harrisonburg, VA. In 1996, he moved to WJAC-TV in Johnstown, where in 1998 he wrote, produced and hosted the Emmy nominated special "Who Will Protect the Children?"

Guidotti also worked for WTVR in Richmond, VA, before landing at KDKA.
