Spaghetti Dinner to Benefit Pappy's Protector Walk team to support the Walk to Defeat ALS (Lou Gerhig's Disease)
The
Dinner would be to support the Pappy’s Protectors walk team for the Walk to
defeat ALS which is happening at Point State park on Saturday September 7th.
All proceeds for the event will be donated to the walk to help find a cure for
ALS and support Western Pennsylvanians living with this disease which there is
currently no cure for. Team Pappy’s protector is for Charles (Chuck)
Borland a 1969 graduate of North Hills High School who was diagnosed with ALS
in March of 2012.
The
Western Pennsylvania Chapter provides services and resources to persons living
with ALS (PALS), their families, and caregivers in 31 counties in Central and
Western Pennsylvania. Our mission is to lead the fight to treat and cure
ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering
people with Lou Gehrig's Disease and their families to live fuller lives by
providing them with compassionate care and support.

More than just a trek around Point State Park,
the Walk to Defeat ALS® is an opportunity to bring hope to people living with
ALS, to raise money for local patient care and equipment loans while funding
research. The Walk to Defeat ALS® is the ALS Association’s most
successful annual event, which raises funds to sustain services and support
research for much of the next year, right in the Pittsburgh area where the
services are provided
