• Ready or not, Pittsburgh, the 25-day Parkway East closure begins this week (post-gazette.com subscription) — If you drive between Oakland and the eastern suburbs, expect major changes as Parkway East shuts down for 25 days while PennDOT demolishes and replaces the Commercial Street Bridge. Drivers heading to Oakland are urged to exit at Wilkinsburg inbound and at Oakland outbound, with additional lane restrictions on nearby roads and Frick Park access changes lasting into August.
