Beyond Cakes Enjoying Sweet Success

Beyond Cakes Owner Diane Hamilton tells Palmer-Forks Patch that business is booming.

You know a business is booming by its crowds.

There I was on a Saturday morning inside Beyond Cakes on Sullivan Trail in Forks Township, watching owner Diane Hamilton and her crew try to serve the hungry mob.

After opening in late April, Hamilton says that her customer base is really blossoming in the wake of her business replacing the popular Antonella's Bakery.

My wife loves frequenting the bakery for their brownies. That's why we were there. Meanwhile, I grabbed some coffee and a bagel that Diane prepared for me.

The bakery was just featured in a restaurant profile in the Easton Express-Times by my friend Kelly Huth.

“(It’s) more of a focus on the cupcakes since that seems to be what people are looking for lately,” Hamilton told the newspaper.

Some fan favorites: The classic Vanilla, Chocolate or Strawberry, Red Velvet, Pistachio, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Salted Caramel, Banana Split and Maple Bacon (a batter that Hamilton says tastes just like a pancake, topped with maple icing, caramelized bacon and a syrup drizzle).

Beyond Cakes is open: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays
