Egolf, Nicholas Win Forks Supervisors Primary

Forks Township Supervisor Bob Egolf and former Supervisor Bonnie Nicholas won the Democratic nominations for two seats in Tuesday's primary election.

With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Egolf received 311 votes while Nicholas received 265 votes.

They beat out challenger Blandine Mballa-Fonkeu, who received 224 votes.

The winners face Supervisors Chairman Erik Chuss, a Republican who was unopposed in Tuesday's primary, in November's general election.

Nicholas was a regular attendee at supervisors meetings during her election bid while Fonkeu showed up on occasion.

Forks Township is facing numerous financial challenges and has struggled with project costs and construction woes to its new public works building and amphitheater.
