Come visit CrossFit Advanced, 3601 Sullivan Trail, Forks Township,
as we host an open house 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 28.

will be on hand to answer all of your questions.

CrossFit is a dynamic exercise program that is designed to hone an
athlete’s all-around ability in areas including strength, flexibility,
coordination and endurance. It includes an ever-changing combination of
high intensity, functional movements.

Don't worry if you don't consider yourself to be an athlete.

The beauty of CrossFit is that the workouts are “infinitely scalable based
on your ability,” said Greg Tymon, owner of CrossFit Advanced.  “Whether
you are a star high school athlete in the prime of your life, or someone
hoping to get back in shape for an upcoming high school reunion, you both
can get a great workout in by working to your own level of intensity,” he
said.

CrossFit is not a typical gym experience.

“CrossFit is working out in a small group of people with a personal
trainer, or coach. We come up with the different workouts every day, so you
will never get bored. The coaches will help you to master the necessary
skills and techniques,” Tymon said. “And everyone will cheer you on.”

CrossFit workouts include Olympic-style weight lifting; body weight
exercises (push-ups, sit-ups and burpees); gymnastic moves (such as ring
dips and cartwheels); as well as cardio exercises (running, jumping rope,
stationary rowing). CrossFit is also known for using equipment not
typically found in a gym. On any given day, you might be found flipping
tractor tires, jumping on plyometric boxes, and swinging sledge hammers.

In addition to traditional CrossFit classes, CrossFit Advanced is also
offering yoga and bootcamp-style fitness classes with Denise Garcia Brady
of Creative Action Fitness.
