Merry Christmas from Palmer Township Officials

The Palmer Township Board of Supervisors -- and other Palmer officials -- are wishing their residents a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

At its final meeting of the year earlier this month, Palmer officials talked about the past year with gratitude toward one another and also expressed happy holidays to one and all.

"I want to thank the board for a great 2012," Township Manager Christopher Christman said. "I'm looking forward to 2013. There are a lot of great things on the horizon."

"It's a pleasure to work with the township manager and the board," Solicitor Charles Bruno said. "I appreciate the opportunity."

Supervisors Ann-Marie Panella and Robert Smith made it a point to thank department heads and managers.

"Sometimes with the job, there are a lot of headaches," Smith said. "The staff makes it very easy to be up here."

Panella offered special thanks to Christman, Public Safety Director Tom Adams, Fire Commissioner Delmar Grube and Police Chief Larry Palmer.

"The leadership has developed to being one of the best groups I've ever seen," Panella said.

Supervisors Chairman Dave Colver also wanted to thank volunteers, such as the members of the fire and recreation departments.

"They make it all happen behind the scenes," Colver said.

Supervisor Bob Lammi said township government is no easy task.

"In this day and age, to operate this municipality because of financial constraints, to be able to do more with less, to provide to residents," he said. "It won't get any better."

"I want to echo everything that everybody said," Supervisor K. Michael Mitchell said.

Colver summed what Palmer Township is all about.

"Our residents and businesses make this place what it is," Colver said. That's our special thing. We have 21,000 people. I'm looking forward to a bright 2013."
