What's the Reaction to Palmer Trash Changes?
Palmer Township recently changed to a new trash hauling system.

The Palmer Township Board of Supervisors expected a large turnout to talk about trash. But no one showed up.
Supervisors expected a large crowd at Monday night's meeting to ask questions and raise concerns about how the township's trash collection system changed on May 1.
But a funny thing happened.

"Not one person spoke on trash," Supervisors Chairman Dave Colver said.
Instead, township officials saw the same faces they've been seeing for the past few months: residents complaining about the digital billboard on Route 22.

Township officials had prepared themselves, too.
Waste Management, which now handles the township's trash collection, was on hand to discuss the system where residents have 96-gallon toters for garbage and recyling.
So was Cindy Oatis, the township's recycling coordinator.
"We were expecting it," Supervisor Ann-Marie Panella said.
