Palmer Police End Suspicious Person Search
Palmer Township Police Department reports that Thursday incident was a misunderstanding.

The Palmer Police Department has called off its search in a suspicious person incident that took place Thursday.
In an email to Palmer/Forks Patch, a Palmer police officer said the incident turned out to be "a huge misunderstanding."
Palmer police had reported Thursday that a white male in a pickup or SUV had approached a 13-year-old girl who was walking her dog in the township's Old Orchard section.

According to police, the man got out of his vehicle and began talking with the girl. He then asked her if he could walk her dog and then reached for the leash, police had reported.
"The reason the gentleman was reaching for the leash was because it was a larger size dog and it was 'pulling' on the leash," Police Officer Morgan Shoneberger stated in the email. "Palmer is no longer investigating, like previously stated, it was a misunderstanding."
