Victaulic Building Guest House in Forks
Victaulic Corp. is building a guest house on Uhler Road in Forks Township.

The old inn is set back from the road in Forks Township with acres of earth now before it.
The old Uhler Inn used to sit at the crossroads of the intersection between Uhler Road and Kesslersville Road.
That was before Victaulic Corp. decided to move it and create an additional guest house for its clients.
The company came before the Forks Township Board of Supervisors recently for a conditional use hearing for a project that was approved that would call for the creation of a guest house in front of the inn.
Mark Daniel, who was representing Victaulic, had proposed using 3.8 acres at the intersection of 633 Uhler Road for a 10,546-square-foot addition that would constitute a guest house for the inn.
The property would include some new parking and landscaping.
Supervisors were told the guest house would hold 13 rooms.
"People staying here would be visitors of Victaulic?" Supervisor John O'Neil asked.
The inn was built in 1790 and Victaulic paid a "great expense" to move it, company officials said.
"Our thought for the home is making it a larger, nicer guest house," one company official stated. "We'd bring in our VIPs and have dinners and entertainment. We would show them what Victaulic is all about and what's good about Forks Township."
No timetable has been set for when the project would be completed.
"I think it's very important what they do with the old home," Supervisor Bob Egolf said. "The fact that you went through this expense to move it. We have very few old homes to save. To save this historic building is a wonderful thing for the community."
