• Palmyra Borough swears in new councilor after public interviews (lebtown.com) — Palmyra Borough Council has appointed resident and school bus driver Karen Nye to fill a vacant council seat, and selected a new vice president and police commission representative. Council also heard an Eagle Scout project report, approved financial security reductions for local developments, and noted an upcoming May 11 zoning hearing and May 12 council meeting that residents can attend or watch online. 
• Palmyra area vet honored for dedicated career to farm animal health, welfare (lebtown.com) — Longtime Palmyra resident and veterinarian Dr. Nanette “Nan” Hanshaw has retired after nearly 26 years leading animal health efforts at Pennsylvania’s agriculture department, including major work on avian influenza. She’s now training her dog Annie as a therapy animal, hopes to appear in the Palmyra holiday parade, and was recently honored at a Lebanon Valley Exposition Center banquet.
• Mid-Penn boys volleyball stars for Thursday, April 30 (pennlive.com) — Palmyra boys volleyball pushed Northern York to five sets Thursday in Mid-Penn Conference play, coming up just short in a 3–2 thriller. The roundup highlights standout performances from Cumberland Valley, Central Dauphin, Red Land, Mechanicsburg, and Northern York, giving Palmyra fans context on how their league rivals are performing.
