Drawing Foundations at 7th Street Studios

In this course, we will cover drawing techniques including how to translate observations into accurate drawings, blocking in, value, and composition. Working primarily from observation, we will cover a variety of drawing techniques to master measuring and creating form through light and shadow. Class may be repeated for further development of skills. Topics may include mark-making, portrait techniques, positive/negative shape exercises, value, composition, experimentation with materials, landscape, perspective, etc. Basics will always be covered in this class, other topics will be in rotation.
