Hearth Cooking Workshop

Step into the restored kitchen of the Speaker’s House and experience the flavors of an eighteenth century springtime table. Join hearth cook Ruth Konrad as she guides participants in recreating a seasonal meal drawn from a 1745 German cookbook. Working over an open hearth, you’ll explore the techniques, tools, and ingredients that shaped everyday cooking in early Pennsylvania German households.
