PERKIOMEN VALLEY, PA — Administrators at Perkiomen Valley School District notified parents this week that an unknown man entered the school.

The man, pictured above, came into PV Middle School East's auditorium lobby at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, while professional development activities were happening, the district said in a letter sent home to parents.

It's not clear why he entered or what he did once he was inside, though the district said that "nothing was amiss."

When school officials asked him who he was, the man left the building and drove away.

Students had a half-day on Tuesday, but the doors had been left unlocked at that time of day for faculty and staff, the district said.

State police were notified, and an increased security presence is in place at the East school.

An investigation determined that the man was not a high school student, as initially believed. The district believes the same man exhibited "unusual behavior" at the 4-H Center in Skippack this week.

Parents and students are urged to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the district, via the Safe2Say Something app, or by calling 844-SAF2SAY.
