Schuylkill Valley Sports Grand Opening This Week
The locally-owned sporting goods company has been in the area for 40 years
, locally owned and operated in the Greater Philadelphia area for the past 40 years, recently opened its newest location in Limerick at the Court at Upper Providence, located on Ridge Pike.
The store, which sits next to Ross, was opened in light of the recent closure of the Trappe location at the end of 2001. Although the store has been opened since that time, Schuylkill Valley Sports Marketing Director & Buyer Phil Baumgardner said spring is a great time for the store's grand opening event, which starts today and goes on through April 1.
"[We're] disappointed to have to close the Trappe location," Baumbardner said. "We had been [there] for over 15 years, but [we're] very excited about the new location and opportunity."

The new location is still a very convenient location for residents of Trappe, Collegeville, Schwenksville and Skippack, but is not right in the back yard of Limerick, Royersford and Spring City residents.
Baumgardner noted the store will have "incredible grand opening sales (click here for the full list).

Schuylkill Valley Sports is a full-line sporting goods retailer specializing in sports equipment and athletic footwear, licensed and team fan apparel and novelties/collectables. The company is headquartered in Pottstown and recently celebrated its 40th anniversary in business. It is also one of the largest team sports suppliers in Eastern Pennsylvania.
"We are your one-stop source for uniforms, equipment, jackets, team shoes and cleats, coaches apparel, workout & practice clothing, hats, cheerleading outfits and supplies and field equipment," Baumgardner said. "We specialize in affordable screen-printed and embroidered apparel and promotional items."
