Toepel Heading Back to Harrisburg

The 147th Legislative District incumbent beat challenger Betty White by 22 points.

 

Marcy Toepel won re-election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives by just over 22 points, according to unofficial Montgomery County Board of Elections results.

Toepel was facing off against Betty White, a long-time Marlborough resident who ran on sustaining and enhancing the quality of life in the community, to represent the 147th District.

The district includes Green Lane, Pennsburg, East Greenville, Schwenksville, and Red Hill Boroughs, Salford, Schwenksville, Perkiomen, Douglass, Lower Frederick, Marlborough, New Hanover (Wards 1 and 3), Skippack (Ward 1),  Upper Frederick, Upper Hanover and Upper Salford Townships.

Toepel, who is on the tail-end of her first full term after winning a special election during the 2010 Primary Election, thanked friends and family on Facebook.

"Many thanks to my family, friends, and neighbors for their love and support," Toepel said.  "I am thankful and humbled by the trust that the residents of the 147th legislative district have placed in me. I look forward to serving my community for the next 2 years."
