Trappe Borough Council Members Meet for First Meeting of the New Year
Trappe Borough Mayor Connie Peck presided over a swearing-in ceremony at Monday night's meeting.

On Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, Trappe Borough Council met for a reorganization meeting. Newly elected Councilwoman Tammy Liberi was sworn in, along with re-elected members, Fred Schuetz, Paul Edwards and Lew DiPrete. Trappe Tax Collector Gretchen Lawson also renewed her oath of office. Schuetz will remain council president. Council committee appointments were re-established and nominations for 2012 officers were conducted.
In other borough news, Council approved 2012 fees, which include permit costs for sheds, deck, pools, spas and fences. On Dec. 29 2011, in a special budget meeting, Council passed a five-year budget for 2012-2016. The 85-page detailed report is available for public viewing.
Trappe residents are reminded that curbside pickup is available for live Christmas trees on Tuesday, Jan. 10. Trees should be brought to the curb Monday night so they aren't missed. Also, discounted ski tickets are available this winter for Bear Creek, Blue Mountain and others. Tickets may be purchased at Borough Hall during regular business hours.

The next Council meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Trappe Borough Hall. The public is welcome to attend and to address the Council during the public forum.
