Trappe Residents Must Repair Curbs This Month

Trappe homeowners on College and East First Avenues are required to fix their curbs before paving begins Oct. 1.

Property owners along College and East First Avenues are required to repair their sidewalks and curbs by Sept. 30, prior the start of the road improvement project on Oct. 1.

The road project, which is expected to cost the borough around $300,000, will cover East and West College Ave and East First Ave in 2012.

Property owners with sidewalks and curbs to repair have the option of getting the work done themselves or contacting the Trappe Borough contractor to make the repairs and being billed for the work, according to the Trappe Borough Website.

"[Trappe] Borough is only required to give a homeowner 30 days’ notice to have curbs and/or sidewalks repaired," said Jacqui Guenther, Trappe Borough manager. "We gave the property owners notice on May 30, 2012, which gave them 120 days (4 months) to get their curbs repaired."

This is the first project in the Trappe Road Program Schedule - all roads will be re-paved by 2021.
