Vikings Win Another Thriller to Remain Unbeaten in PAC-10

Perk Valley's third straight come-from-behind tale is a hit with fans.

The problem with sequels is that they rarely live up to the original in drama or creativity.

’s “comeback to a win” versus Pottstown was a hit with PV fans.

This past Friday's sequel “How to declaw a Bear” is a blockbuster that had more plot twists and drama than the original. Our heroes, the Vikings, emerged with a 22-21 heart-stopping win against a team they had beaten only three times in their last 11 meetings.

Perk Valley again allowed its opponent, the Bears in this case, to stroll out to an early lead of 14-0, before mounting a drive when Rasaan Stewart hit Clay Domine on a fade into the end zone to cut the lead in half with the Kyle Chudoba PAT.

Two of the key performers in the previous two come-from-behind league wins, Donte Golson-Goodman, who ran for 47 yards, and Stewart, who threw for 106 yards and three TDS, while running for 39 yards, did not disappoint and continue to shine brightly on the stage known as Thomas Keenan Stadium.

Boyertown (0-3 league, 2-3 overall) was able to snare the lead at 21-14 on a 13-yard TD run by Marcus halfway through the third quarter. The score held at that until the Vikings forced a Bears punt and this week's WPAZ Pac-10 player of the week Ryan Boyd again sparked the home team with an electrifying return. The Vikings got the ball inside Bears' territory, the 48 yard line to be more specific, with 2:25 left in regulation.

On third-and-seven, Stewart who bought some time with his legs, found a wide-open Domine in the flat and hit him with a strike from 45 yards out to draw Perk Valley to within a Chudoba PAT of setting up the second overtime of the season.

Much to the surprise of all in attendance, Vikings Coach Scott Reed showed faith in his senior-heavy squad and chose to roll the dice with a play they work on every week to go for the win in regulation.

Slot receiver Domine, took a reverse pitch from Stewart, then rolled out to the right side before floating the ball to Ezra Ranco, who is still playing with a cast, lifting the Vikings to another dramatic win.

Next up for the Vikings is a meeting in Thursday night versus Phoenixville, who is coming off a lat-minute thriller as well in which they fell less than a yard short of defeating Pottstown, falling 13-9.
