Pennsylvania Education Advocacy Network Forum

Do you have an interest in Public Education?

Dear Friends,

As we all know Rendell was very supportive of fairly funding education for all kids. Over the last 5-7 years many advocacy groups across the state of PA have been pro active and in support of the funding changes that occurred over the last 3-4 years. Unfortunately with a new Governor, the plan of action that we expected is/could more than likely, will, change.
If you have an interest in Public Education, please join us and take this opportunity to LEARN and/or BE PART of the CHANGE! The children in PA our affect our future as well. They need our time and voice now. Don't let this opportunity pass them by!

Are you a constituent of the PA 37th legislative (senate) district, (currently represented by Senator John Pippy)? If so, please join us on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 7:00-8:30 for an update on the state of public education from Ron Cowell, President of the Education Policy and Leadership Center. Not only is it critical that you understand the decisions being made that affect our public education system, but it is equally critical that you have a voice in those decisions.

Come and learn how your voice added to the Pennsylvania Education Advocacy Network http://www.eplc.org/advocacy/network.html can shape the future of public education. Senator Pippy was voted into his leadership role to represent us and make decisions that will best serve us. But how he can he do this effectively if he doesn’t hear from us?

The Pennsylvania Education Advocacy Network is a non-partisan statewide network of legislative district-based teams of volunteers (registered voters) who represent a broad range of education perspectives including early education; K-12; career education; special education; post-secondary education; libraries; literacy; arts; and museums. Teams include parents and students, professionals, lay leaders and other advocates. Team members are not expected to represent their employer or any organization with which they may be affiliated.

Please share this invitation with family, neighbors, colleagues, local business owners, church groups, and community based organizations who might also consider raising their voices in effort to provide all youth with a quality education.
