Why Go?: Center Presbyterian Church is hosting a flea market this weekend. Proceeds will go toward the mission projects of Presbyterian Women. Â

Why Go?: St. Benedict’s and Ben’s Men will host the third annual Car Cruise and Oldies Dance this Friday. The Car Cruise will be in the church parking lot from 4 to 7 p.m. and is free and open to all. The Oldies Dance will be held in O’Brien Hall from 7 to 11 p.m. and will feature DJ Jeff Allen of FM 103.9. The cost of the ticket includes a hamburger or hot dog, fries, shakes and soft drinks. Why Go: The Peters Township High School baseball team will be holding a PTBA Recognition Night at Peterswood Park. All spring PTBA players are encouraged to attend in their uniform shirts for the game and to watch the Indians vs. Black Hawks game.

Why Go?: The will once again take part in the Drug Take Back Initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice. To make this program as convenient as possible for residents, items (pills and liquids) may be dropped in the drop box located in the lobby of the police department on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is absolutely an anonymous program. On Saturday, a uniformed police officer will be stationed at the following Peters Township locations to accept drop-offs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.: McMurray Dairy Bar, and .

Why Go?: In this free class for parents and their babies, parents will learn of the benefits of infant massage. Baby massage helps babies sleep better, improves digestion, reduces fussiness and colic, deepens bonding and helps communication. Register in the Children's Department.

Why Go?: The Girl Scout Troop 50803 will have a Spaghetti Dinner and Fashion Show at St. Benedict the Abbot Catholic Church. The Girl Scout troop will be honoring the Women of St. Benedict. There will be more than 30 raffle baskets available. Proceeds benefit Girl Scout Troop 50803. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. Â

Why Go?: The United States Air Force Jazz Ensemble will perform at the Peters Township High School auditorium. The event is sponsored by Peters Township Character Counts. Donations will be accepted for Operation Troop Appreciation at the event. Items needed include entertainment items, prepackaged food, snacks, clothing, bedding items and toiletries.

Why Go: Get up early to join the Classroom staff as they identify the wide variety of birds who visit the Boyce Mayview Park in Upper St. Clair on their migratory flyways. If you’re not an expert, you’re in luck because no birding experience is necessary. You’ll get information on how to become a citizen scientist and help the ornithology community during the International Migratory Bird Count in May. Birders of all ages are welcome. Registration is requested for planning purposes and is required to receive the group discount. Call 412-838-0064 to register.

Why Go?: This fundraiser is to help relieve the financial burden of Faith Hastings family. Faith is a beautiful, loving 4-year-old little girl. She has hemifacial microsomia—a congenital disease—and will be having surgery to help repair her face. During her surgery and recovery at Johns’ Hopkins hospital, her family will have to stay in Baltimore, MD for an extended period of time. Her parents—Randy and Rachel—will be missing work and all expenses, including their lodging, will be out of pocket.
