It's Opening Night of 'West Side Story'
Star-crossed lovers croon about their destiny in the American musical loosely-based on Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet."
The Peters Township High School cast and crew are ready for their premier of "West Side Story," a Masqued Indians production.
"West Side Story" is Arthur Laurents' uniquely American musical adaptation of "Romeo and Juliet" set in New York's west side in the 50s.
"Story's" story revolves around two adversarial gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, and the star-crossed lovers from rival gangs who cannot deny their passion for one another. It features a haunting score from Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, including crossover hits like "Somewhere" and "Tonight."
