She took time to chat with us.
EB: When many students are off for the summer, you have been busy at work. What has that been like?
KN: I’ve been the receptionist at South Hills Honda, and have worked as the one who sets up scheduling for appointments for the service department. I like to deal with the customers when they come in. It’s been a real learning experience. I’ve been there since I was a sophomore, and I enjoy dealing with the customers.
EB: I guess when the school year begins, you must really keep a busy schedule.
KN: Well, I plan to continue working two days a week and I’ve also taken a really hard class schedule at school for the coming year. It’s going to be kind of difficult to balance it all. It can be hard to keep the GPA up while working, but I can do school work when I have the free time, and I’ve been able to manage to get it done. I want to enjoy this year at school since it’s my last one, and to get involved in the community.
EB: What kind of community projects do you enjoy?
KN: I did some volunteer work for Washington City Mission. My friends and I donated cookies, and I think it would be nice to do it again.
EB: What are you considering as far as college and your career?
KN: I think it’s really nice that I can get experience working at the dealership so that I can get a taste of business before I go to school. I’m still trying to maintain my good grades so that I can go to a nice school.
EB: Have you looked at any schools for a business career, or do you have any favorites in mind?
KN: I really like Miami (University) of Ohio. I visited there and thought it was really pretty. That would be my choice right now.
EB: Where do you see yourself five years from now, after high school graduation and you finishing college?
KN: My goal is to graduate college with good grades and to get a good job from the start. If not, I just want to work my way up through the business, or begin with an internship.
EB: How do you relax?
KN: I really enjoy skiing at Seven Springs or playing golf. It’s just a chance to be out with your friends and be away that is so much fun.
