2 Found Dead, One 'Heavily Decomposed,' At 2 Philly Homes: Police

Two people, a 61-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, were found dead separately at Philadelphia homes Sunday, police said.

PHILADELPHIA — Two dead bodies, one "heavily decomposed," were found at Philadelphia homes Sunday, according to police.

According to police, the body of a 61-year-old man was found in a home on the 5600 block of Larchwood Avenue in the Cobbs Creek neighborhood.

The body was "heavily decomposed," police said.

Medics pronounced the man dead at 11:25 a.m.

An investigation into the death is underway.

That same morning, a 40-year-old woman was found in the backyard of a property on the 1900 block of East Pike Street.

She was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:57 a.m.

The investigation into her cause of death continues.
