Here are the top stories today in Philadelphia:
- Interstate 95 turned into a shooting range this past weekend when two motorists were shot in two different road rage incidents. The first occurred near the Girard Avenue exit when a driver tried to change lanes and was met with gunfire into his vehicle from another motorist. Later that day near the Walt Whitman Bridge exchange, a driver was shot three times by another driver and managed to pull off the highway onto Front Street and get emergency help. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating and no arrests have been made. (WPVI-TV)
- During the COVID pandemic, a Kensington non-profit distributed clean drug syringes to 36,000 drug users. This is triple what they exchanged before the Coronavirus pushed pause on the world and stopped almost everything...besides heroin addiction. Prevention Point distributed 8.8 million drug syringes and collected over 10 million used ones in exchange. (PhillyVoice.com)
- Pay the man his money! As Phillies manager Rob Thomson leads his team into Round 2 of the MLB Playoffs, the Philadelphia Phillies reward him with a two-year contract deal and take the "interim" off his office door. (Philadelphia Patch)
