2 Teens Die In Schuylkill River Wednesday: Reports

Two teenage boys, on 15 and the other 14, died after one fell into the river then the other jumped in to save his friend.

PHILADELPHIA — Two teenage boys died in the Schuylkill River Wednesday night, according to reports.

The incident occurred at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in the river near 56th Street and Eastwick Avenue, Action News reports.

According to Fox 29, one of the boys, 14, jumped into the water to swim but began drowning.

That's when his friend, 15, leaped into the water in an effort to rescue him and a third boy called 911, NBC10 reports.

However, both boys were unable to make it out of the water and died.
