3 Teens Shot In Near Philadelphia's Christmas Village, Ice Rink

A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot Friday near the ice rink and Christmas Village in Philadelphia's Dilworth Park.

PHILADELPHIA — A teenage boy is in critical condition after he and two other teens were shot Friday afternoon near the ice rink and Christmas Village in Dilworth Park, Philadelphia Police said.

The shooting happened at about 4:33 p.m. near 15th and Market street.

Officers in the area heard four to five gunshots. They then found two teenagers suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police said a 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot in the face. The other victim, also 14, was shot in the left thigh. That person is in stable condition at Jefferson Hospital, police said.

Later Friday, another 14-year-old boy was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia by his mother after suffering a gunshot wound to the calf. He is in stable condition.

Authorities took another teen boy into custody.

Police believe a fight broke out between teenagers in the area of the skating rink, and a gun was pulled out, then fired, striking the teens.
