$300 A Month Available For Families Who Take Kids To Philly Schools

The School District of Philadelphia said parents and guardians who take their kids to school instead of using buses can earn $300 a month.

PHILADELPHIA — The School District of Philadelphia is offering parents and guardians up to $3,000 a year to take their kids to school rather than use buses.

Parents and guardians can sign up for the Flat Rate Program now.

Through the program, parents and guardians who take their kids to and from school can earn $300 a month, up to $3,000 a year.

Those who just take their kids to school can earn $150 a month, up to $1,500 yearly.

To sign up, fill out this online form or contact your school's transportation liaison to have them sign you up.

Guidelines include students must attend 70 percent of instructional days per month, VIN numbers submitted on the form must match that of the vehicle used to transport students, and the form must be submitted monthly.

The district has also provided SEPTA Student Fare Cards to students eligible for bus, van or cab service, and is in discussion with SEPTA regarding providing fare cards to adults to help with transportation for families who do not drive.
