58 Shots Fired In Philadelphia Thursday Night, 1 Person Hurt: Police

A 23-year-old woman was hurt when nearly 60 shots were fired late Thursday night in Philadelphia, police said.

PHILADELPHIA — A woman was hurt in a hail of gunfire Thursday night in Philadelphia, police said.

According to police, at least 58 shots were fired at about 11:38 p.m. on the 5400 block of Wyalusing Avenue.

Police were called to the area for a report of a person with a gun and found 58 shell casings there.

Not long after arriving at the scene, police were notified of a shooting victim showing up to Presbyterian Medical Center.

That person, a 23-year-old woman, was shot in the right arm and was in stable condition.

Police believe the woman left her house to walk to a 24-hour store, and as she crossed the street, she heard several gunshots and started to run but fell.

She managed to reach a nearby corner bar, where she received help and was transported to the hospital, police said.

No arrests have been made.
