7 Killed In Violent Philadelphia Weekend
Six people were shot to death and one person was stabbed to death, marking 14 homicides in the city in the first two weeks of the new year.
PHILADELPHIA — This weekend was a violent one in Philadelphia, with seven people dead by way of shootings and stabbings, according to police. One person killed was a 15-year-old boy.
Philadelphia Police said six people were shot this weekend and one person was stabbed, all the victims died as a result of the incidents.
With seven killings this weekend and another Monday morning, Philadelphia has seen 15 homicides in the first two weeks of the year, according to police statistics.

The most recent killing occurred at about 10:41 p.m. on Sunday along the 3000 block of West Susquehana Avenue in Strawberry Mansion.
A 35-year-old man was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at 10:55 p.m. Another victim in that incident was taken to Temple University Hospital and is in critical condition, police said.

Also on Sunday, Calvin Weathers, 24, was shot at about 1:05 p.m. on the 2400 block of North 54th Street in Wynnefield.
Police said Weathers was sitting in a Buick Lacrosse when he was shot in the head and body. He was pronounced dead at 1:16 p.m.
In the early morning hours of Sunday, a 31-year-old man was shot on the 4700 block of North 5th Street in Feltonville.
The shooting occurred at about 1:24 p.m.
Police said the victim was shot in the head and neck and was taken to Temple University Hospital where he died at 1:35 a.m.
On Saturday, four people were killed.
The first incident occurred on the 3100 block of North Rosewood Street in Nicetown-Tioga at about 1:34 p.m. and left a 15-year-old boy dead.
Police said Demetrius Moore, 15, was shot in the chest and was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he died at 1:47 p.m., police said.
Later that day, a stabbing left a 35-year-old man dead.
The stabbing occurred at about 6:12 p.m. on the 100 block of South 17th Street near Rittenhouse Square. The victim was taken to Jefferson University Hospital and died at 7:16 p.m.
Police took one person into custody in connection with the stabbing. It's unclear what, if any, charges have been filed.
Shortly after the stabbing, a 27-year-old man was shot on the 200 block of South Edgewood Street in Cobbs Creek at about 7:08 p.m.
He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and succumbed to his injuries at 7:34 p.m.
One person was taken into custody in connection with the shooting. Again, it's unclear if charged have been filed.
Then at about 11:25 p.m., Dwight Tindal, 23, was shot and killed on the 2000 block of East Rush Street in Kensington.
Tindal was found suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and was taken to Temple University Hospital where he died at 11:37 p.m.
