7 More Philly-Area Rite Aid Stores Closing Amid Bankruptcy: Reports
Rite Aid, which is headquartered in Philadelphia's Navy Yard, is closing seven more stores in the Philadelphia region in the coming days.
PHILADELPHIA — Rite Aid is closing even more stores amid its bankruptcy filing, according to reports.
In early March, Patch reported the pharmacy chain, which is headquartered in Philadelphia's Navy Yard, was closing 77 stores nationwide. Many of the locations slated for closure were located in Pennsylvania.
Now, the company is planning to close seven more stores, six in the Philadelphia area and one nearby in New Jersey.

According to multiple reports, the closing stores in the region and their closing dates are:
- 6731 Woodland Ave., Philadelphia — May 16
- 6201 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia — May 16
- 2131-59 N. Broad St., Philadelphia — May 16
- 118 Eagleview Boulevard, Exton, Pennsylvania — May 16
- 104 E. Third St., Bethlehem, Pennsylvania — TBD
- 10 S. Center St., Pottsville, Pennsylvania — April 12
- 7835 Maple Ave., Pennsauken, New Jersey — May 16
Rite Aid in late 2023 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company said it has faced falling sales, increasing competition, and mounting debt stemming from opioid-related lawsuits.
